“As you know the 2012 President-elect election was launched September 14. The election closed Monday, October 29. The ballots have been counted by Intelliscan, Inc., presented to the Election Committee and certified, and each of the candidates has been contacted by Melba J. T. Vasquez, PhD, chair of the Election Committee. On behalf of the Election Committee, I am pleased to announce that Nadine J. Kaslow, PhD, has been elected as the 2013 APA President-elect. Dr. Kaslow will begin her term as President-elect on January 1, 2013, as President on January 1, 2014 and as past President on January 1, 2015.”

My presidential theme is Uniting Psychology for the Future. A scientist, practitioner, educator/trainer who is passionately committed to advancing psychology in the public interest, I believe that I am well-suited to take a leadership role in uniting our professional organization and our discipline. A long-standing APA member, I have held countless governance roles with APA divisions, boards and committees, taskforces, and the APA Board of Directors.

I have been energized by this involvement with APA and truly value both the collegial relationships that I have developed along the way and all that we have accomplished together for psychology. Being APA president would afford me the platform to work collaboratively with all of you to shape our discipline and the APA in a fashion that best serves our members, future psychologists, and the public. Please join me in this exciting undertaking.
